C Aswath is a very well known in Kranataka. He wad a master in Snagam Sangeetha. He not only mastered in classical music but he was a really popular musician both in films and theatre. There are very few people who have achived this feat like him.
C Ashwath a famous singer and master of Kannada Sugam passed away on 29th december 2009. He was 70 years old. He was suffering from abdominal pain and he was admitted to Columbia Asia Hospital in Bangalore on 17t december. He was reportedly suffering from liver and kidney problems.
He was born on December 29, 1939. He was graduated in Science from Bangalore University and later worked in Indian Telephone Industries for 27 years before retiring as an Executive Engineer in 1992. He started his musical career as a disciple of Devagiri Shankararao Joshi in Hindustani Music.
Ironically, 29th december also happened to be his birthday, he turned 70 on this day. A function was suppose to be held in Ravindra Kala Kshetra for this 70th birthday. All karnataka people will always remember him and pray that his soul rest in peace.
